Wuthering Heights Bridal inspiration: Alice's Wedding

Alice’s wedding gown called for a style that captures the haunting beauty and timeless romance of Wuthering Heights. For her special day she wanted to feel like she was stepping into the moors of Yorkshire with her gown flowing in the natural breeze.

Dress found but not quite perfect...
Alice discovered her gown at the now-closed Carina B Couture and was captivated by the corseted deep V waistline of Caroline Castigliano's 'Cest Magnifique' dress. Made from silk organza with a corseted crepe bodice, this gown transported Alice to a bygone era filled with romance and dramatic skies.
For Alice the dress was 99% perfect but just needed that little extra to feel more like her.
Additional bespoke sleeves
For Alice, the solution was straightforward: incorporate dramatic yet elegant chiffon sleeves to complement the skirt, enhancing the dress's 18th-century romantic gown aesthetic.
After taking her measurements and using a sleeve pattern I had previously developed, we adjusted it to achieve a more polished shape with reduced drape, adding a classic cuff detail featuring three buttons.

A full resize and comfort elements
For any bride the worst thought is feeling like the dress would be uncomfortable, and so it is my first rule when altering a dress that a bride must feel comfortable for the whole day.
Alice would gladly explain that she has sensory concerns, so wearing the corset gave her a slight worry that her dress would become more and more uncomfortable during the celebration.
To eliminate any worries, when resizing the dress, I also shortened the boning around the armhole to eliminate any itching or digging, reducing discomfort.
Additionally, I added an extra set of buttons on the back of the dress, enabling Alice to loosen the corset if necessary and re-button it for a more comfortable fit.

Gorgeous additions
Apart from a few highly sentimental items passed down from great grandmothers, Alice donned exquisite jewellery by Hermione Harbutt and a veil embellished with beautiful lace details.
Her flowers were handpicked from a locally grown allotment and her shoes were an italian brand she loves, so much so her mum admitted she bought the same shoe in gold!
Every aspect of Alice's wedding was either sentimental or entirely her own vision. There was no external influence, which, as a bridal supplier, I absolutely adore. Every wedding should fully reflect your personal style, and for Alice, drawing inspiration from Catherine in Wuthering Heights for her wedding was exactly what she desired for her perfect day.
From the bride herself...
Alice truly experienced the dreamlike historic wedding, and these photos perfectly capture her happiness in her wedding bubble.
"Just thank you, I felt incredible all day and night, thank you for your amazing work to my dress"
